It is the desire of our student ministry that every student devote themselves to learning to be the person God wants them to be.
If students are going to continue to grow spiritually beyond Unite, they must develop some spiritual disciplines that don’t depend on programs or other people. The HABITS tools were created to help students develop spiritual disciplines necessary to keep growing on their own. This type of discipleship is designed to be independent of a student’s attendance to any program of Unite Student Ministries.
What are the HABITS?
While there are several truths students need to understand about Christianity, there are only a few spiritual habits they’ll need to develop. We've identified six we want committed Christian students to embrace and develop before they graduate from our ministry. Because the focus is on "habits," these disciplines have been put in a form that makes it easier to remember.
The HABITS acronym is:
Hang time with God (Quiet Time Journals)
Accountability with another believer (Back 2 Back)
Bible Memorization (Hidden Treasures)
Involvement with the church body (no resources)
Tithing commitment (Bank of Blessings)
Study Scripture (Rootworks)
These resources will be at the resource table in the back of the chapel in the next couple weeks.
